KPVM is a dedicated lacquer mastering facility. Originally based in Toronto, and now operating out of a small town in the Ottawa valley, we serve artists, labels and pressing plants across Canada and throughout the US.
Lacquer cutting
Standard procedures refined over years, adapted to every record: a very clean 4 channel analog signal path, or a more hands-on approach when your master needs it.
Pre-mastering
Masters that need a little help get detailed, transparent adjustments with state of the art digital tools, for a cleaner and louder record.
Pressing
We don’t make stampers or press records, but we work with the plants that do, and can oversee your pressing project from start to finish.
The lathe has a history
Our Neumann VMS 70 lathe and SX 74 cutterhead are very early versions.

Kevin Park cuts the lacquers
He’s been doing it since 1999. Kevin first caught the cutting bug through the electronic music scene at the height of the vinyl DJing era, and he has never lost his enthusiasm for the challenges and rewards of working in this medium.
Before you send
24-bit, 96 kHz
WAV or AIFF is the vinyl pre-master standard. Lower resolutions are acceptable, down to CD quality.
1 file per side
A single WAV or AIFF for each side, with track spacing included, plus a text document of track IDs that matches the audio.
22 minutes
Sides longer than 22 minutes often mean audio compromises and additional charges.
